We present our EliMotion

EliMotion is one of the products developed by Elios based on EliMax with in addition the Motion extension. EliMotion is a small displacement sensor (it measures only 4cm x 4cm) that integrates a low resolution CCD sensor capable of reaching 6400fps. It is used in applications where it is necessary to have a non-inertial displacement / speed sensor and where it is possible to customize the entire acquisition flow thanks to the flexibility of the FPGAs.

Design

EliMotion integrates a screw support for M12 lenses that allows easy replacement of the lens itself and 8 high brightness LEDs to illuminate even the darkest environments. It is also equipped with 4 VL53L0X, a new laser sensor based on the Time-of-Flight (ToF) principle that allows measuring distances up to 2m (one sensor for each angle). Finally, Elimotion is equipped with two removable “wings” which have 4 M3 mounting holes. On one of the two wings there is also an expansion connector and a UART-RS485 converter. It is possible to detach the two flaps and obtain the 4cm x 4cm format again!
